The Land Registry have updated their Form FR1 – Applications for First Registrations. A side note has been added to panel 12 to clarify that it must be completed regardless of whether the applicant is relying on title documents or only on a statutory declaration or statement of truth.
Side notes have also been added to panels 12 and 17 to emphasise that a conveyancer’s certificate must be completed and submitted where the applicant is lodging certified copy deeds only.
Although the Land Registry will continue to accept the old version of the form indefinitely, practitioners are advised to use the newer form.
