“JPC LAW ENFRANCHISEMENT - AN AWARD WINNING TEAM”

JPC Law - An Award Winning Team

The third annual Enfranchisement and Right to Manage Awards (ERMAs) organised by News on the Block, were held at a black tie event held at Lords’s Cricket Ground on 23 May 201. Attended by over 200 professionals, the Awards seek to recognise those firms and individuals who have excelled in this niche area of law.

JPC Law was nominated in three categories and we are delighted to announce that Graham Jaffe was awarded Solicitor of the Year. Graham has a reputation in the field as the “Rottweiler of Choice” on account of his tenacity and belief that all eligible lessees should have the right to acquire a lease extension or share of freehold on a fair basis. The award recognises Graham’s success in completing a £13m enfranchisement in Grosvenor Square, leading a busy and expanding enfranchisement team and reflects the high regard in which he is held by fellow professionals in his field of expertise.

Katie Cohen was highly commended in the Young Professional of the Year category. According to the judging panel, Katie has demonstrated strength in business development through her involvement in the firm’s marketing committee and social media such as linkedin and online property forums, as well as a strong understanding of the area of leasehold enfranchisement and right to manage.

JPC Law was also a finalist in the London Solicitors of the Year category.

We are proud of our achievements this year and hope to build on the success of 2011 next year.

JPC Law’s enfranchisement department is led by Senior Partner Graham Jaffe. Katie Cohen is the other Partner in the team. Graham and Katie are assisted by Janet Douglas, an experienced Paralegal, and other support staff.

Katie and Graham are full members of ALEP (Association of Leasehold Enfranchisement Practitioners) and LEASE (Leasehold Advisory Service). They both regularly contribute to publications including News on the Block and Flat Living Magazine and plan to hold an Enfranchisement Seminar at the firm later this year.

You can follow Katie on twitter @freeholdlease and find both Graham and Katie on linkedin.
