Head of Property Practice Yashmin Mistry has been invited to sit as an expert on the panel at the Law Commission symposium on proposals to reform the law of commonhold and to the Right to Manage – University College London, on 12 February 2019.
The event will be split into two parts, covering the following areas:
- Converting a leasehold building or buildings to commonhold
- Using commonhold for mixed-use developments
- The finances of a commonhold, and preventing insolvency
Discussion of reforms to the Right to Manage, following on from today’s publication of the Law Commission’s Consultation Paper, will take place in the afternoon over 2 sessions:
- Session 1: qualification criteria, the Right to Manage on estates, information sharing
- Session 2: costs, dispute resolution, long-term relationship (for example, lease consents and insurance)
